The teacher who pinky-promises to keep things simple.

Hi friend! I’m Jamie — wife, mom of 6, former elementary teacher, and the author of How to Love Teaching Again. I started Not So Wimpy Teacher because I’m passionate about making learning fun and effective — for students AND the teachers who love them.

Now I have the honor of serving hundreds of thousands of teachers around the world with easy-to-use, hands-on resources and engaging professional development. Every July, I run KISSS as my favorite gift to that community — five days of free training, real strategies, and teachers who get it.

Teaching is hard enough — you’re allowed to have a life.

KISSS isn’t just about saving you time on lesson plans. It’s about giving you permission to set real boundaries around your teaching — and the practical tools to make those boundaries stick.

Every session this week is built on one belief: a calm, present, well-rested teacher will always do more for kids than an exhausted, burned-out one. Simple isn’t lazy. Boundaries aren’t selfish. You deserve a life outside of your classroom — and that’s the whole point of why we do this every July.

You can leave when contract hours end.

Your evenings and weekends belong to you. Period. We’ll show you systems that make this possible — without lowering the bar for your students.

You don’t have to say yes to everything.

Committee invitations, parent requests, district initiatives — “no” is a complete sentence. We’ll show you how to say it without guilt.

Simple beats Pinterest.

Your students don’t need a themed bulletin board every month. They need a calm, present teacher. Simple is enough — and often better.

Rest is part of the work.

You can’t pour from an empty cup. Recovery isn’t laziness — it’s how great teachers stay great year after year.

Friday is going to be extra special.

July 17 isn’t just KISSS’s most popular session of the week — it’s also Jamie’s birthday. Every year, the finale is a giant teacher party, and this year we’re cranking the confetti up to 11.

  • 🎁 The most popular gift — Jamie’s Time-Saving Toolkit drops live on Friday.
  • 🎂 Birthday vibes — bring your favorite drink, cupcake, or coffee mug to the camera.
  • 🎈 Surprise giveaways — extra prizes for live attendees only.

Friday goes live in soon 🎈

Real Teachers, Real Wins

After 18 years of teaching I still am learning new things — and remembering things I forgot too! Thank you for bringing the joy back into my teaching and getting me excited to start this year. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

These PDs have been informative — but most importantly, they are getting me excited about getting back in the classroom. It is nice to be at a PD with useful information AND with someone who is excited about what she does.

The PDs have been clear, concise, and informative. I needed these routines and structures because I overthink my teaching. I am making anchor charts with all the info and will use them this school year!
